We endeavour to provide the best possible service using the skills and knowledge that we have acquired during many years of working in the computer and network business. For legal reasons it is necessary to state that all work carried out by Computer Helpers is under full understanding of the following terms and conditions:

Computer Helpers will hereby be referred to under this banner.

General Terms & Conditions

Your use of this website constitutes acceptance by you of the following conditions of use:

1. No liability can be accepted for equipment, parts, data and/or media whilst in the possession of Computer Helpers. We will, of course, take the best possible care of the above wherever possible. Equipment that is released for work in our workshop is covered for fire, theft and accidental damage to the replacement value of the hardware. Software replacement is only covered if the original disks were supplied to us. Data loss is not covered. Unless otherwise stated, invoices are payable immediately on presentation before the Equipment leaves our Workshop.

2. All work is performed on the understanding that all data on systems worked on by Computer Helpers has been previously backed to separate media (tape, DVD, hard disk, etc). No liability can be accepted for data loss of any kind. We can, of course, provide a reliable backup and/or image of data at normal hourly labour rates.

3. Unless otherwise stated, all home visit invoices are payable immediately in cash or by card on presentation before the engineer leaves the site.

4. All equipment, parts, data and/or media remain the property of Computer Helpers until the invoice is settled in full. The above may be removed by Computer Helpers if the invoice has yet to be settled.

5. No compensation will be available for any delay or rescheduling. Of course, we will always do our very best to be punctual.

6. All information on the site is subject to changes. No warranties implied or otherwise are made regarding the suitability of the information provided on this site. We will not be liable for special, incidental, consequential, indirect or other similar damages arising from the transfer, storage, or use of the information stored herein.

7. No-fix no-fee applies when the engineer is technically unable to resolve the reported problem. If we can't fix the problem due to external dependencies such as faulty equipment or no internet service by BT or any Internet Service Provider or the unwillingness of the customer to purchase the necessary parts or labour required to fix the problem, the customer is liable to pay the minimum standard charge agreed at the time of booking. If the original problem reported by the customer is fixed by the onsite technician, the customer is liable to pay the full price agreed at the time of booking. All quoted prices are exclusive of VAT and VAT will be added to the quoted price. A minimum standard charge for 1 hour applies to any onsite visit. If the visit takes longer than 1 hour, customers will be charged for the extra hours of labour. A quote for the extra hours will be given to the customer at the time of booking. As an example, customers are charged for 3 hours if the technician completes the job in 2 h17 minutes but the customer can ask the technician to stay for the full length of the extra hour to carry out training or any other computer-related work if necessary.

8. Overpayments may happen from time to time, if it should happen, a credit note will be issued at the end of the work and a full refund of the overpayment will be returned and this will be sent only to the account/person it came from. Under no circumstances will the balance be passed to a third party.

9. Software Applications can be re-installed only from original disks and product keys provided by the customer.

10. After virus/malware/spyware removal work, checks will be run to ensure that re-infection will not occur through files stored on the computer. No guarantee is made that the computer will remain infection free after the computer is connected to the internet. Customers are responsible for maintaining suitable protection software and strategies for minimising the risk of infection.

11. A verbal or written agreement will be made concerning the work to be carried out. Faults that were not apparent when released that subsequently come to light upon diagnosis are subject to separate negotiation regarding resolution.

12. Faulty goods supplied by us will be replaced or exchanged for a period not exceeding 12 months from the date of the invoice. If an exact replacement is not possible, a similar or better component will be used.

13. Liability disclaimer: The website is provided by Computer Helpers in good faith but Computer Helpers does not make any representations or warranties of any kind, express or implied, in relation to all or any part of the website or the Content or any websites to which the website is linked, and all warranties and representations are hereby excluded to the extent permitted by law. The contents of the website do not constitute advice and should not be relied upon in making, or refraining from making, any decision. There is no guarantee that the website will be free of infection by viruses or anything else which may be harmful or destructive. To the extent permitted by law, Computer Helpers hereby disclaims all liability (howsoever arising) in connection with any loss and/or damage, arising out of or in connection with any use of, or inability to use, all or any part of the Content, the website and/or any website to which the website is linked, or any action taken (or refrained from being taken) as a result of using any of these.

14. The free collection and drop off service will be available to certain areas, please check with us to see if your area is covered.

15. No liability can be accepted for equipment, parts, data and/or media Delivered by any third party courier service. In the event a third party courier service is used, it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure that any item/items sent to or from our workshop has adequate Delivery Insurance. 

16. Computer Helpers will not be liable for Any Equipment damage including any parts, data and/or media that took place while being delivered to us by a third party courier service. In the event of such an occurrence, Computer Helpers will offer an updated quote to include the new cost and repair the damage. If the quote is rejected the equipment must be arranged to be collected by the customer at their expense and a Diagnostic fee of £25 must be paid before the equipment is released.   

Of course, none of the above is designed to have any detrimental effects on your statutory rights as a customer. We will be happy to discuss any concerns you may have about these Terms & Conditions or any other part of this site or the services provided.

Privacy Policy Computer Helpers do not disclose buyers' information to third parties other than when order details are processed as part of the order fulfilment. In this case, the third party will not disclose any of the details to any other third party.
